This website is intended to provide information for people shopping our products and accessing our services, including making purchases via our website and registering on our database to receive e-mails from us.

Custom Tackle (CTNZ) reserves the right to make changes to the content and prices on this site at any time and without notice.

Placing an order with us

Each order placed for products through the site that we accept results in a separate binding agreement between you and CTNZ for the supply of those products.

When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an e-mail to confirm that we have received and accepted your order, which indicates that a contract has been made between us. We will take payment from you when we accept your order. In the unlikely event that the goods are no longer available, we will refund your payment to the account it originated from, and advise you that the goods are no longer available.

An order is placed on our website by adding a product to the shopping cart and proceeding through our checkout process. The checkout process includes selecting your preferred retailer from our dealer network, giving us delivery and any other relevant details for your order, entering payment information and submitting your order. The final step consists of a confirmation page with full details of your order, which you are able to print as a receipt of your order. We will then email you with confirmation that your order has been received.

We reserve the right at our sole discretion to refuse or cancel any orders.

Please note that some items can only be collected from our participating dealers. These items are clearly marked as such on the web site.

Payment options

We currently accept the following credit cards:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard

When you have completed your transaction our name, Custom Tackle NZ will appear as the transaction reference on your credit card statement.

Website and Credit Card Security

We want you to have a safe and secure shopping experience online.

CTNZ uses the  Stripe Payment Gateway for its online credit card transactions.  processes online credit card transactions securely for thousands of merchants globally, providing a safe and secure online payment service.

  • Payments are processed in real-time.
  • Stripe have bank grade security. All transaction details are stored in their PCI-DSS compliant data centre.
  • CTNZ does not have access to your full card number, this credit card payment is secured by Stripe .

You can help to protect your details from unauthorised access by logging out each time you finish using the site, particularly if you are doing so from a public or shared computer.

Purchasing online with Aterpay

You can now use your Afterpay to make online purchases and split your purchase over 4 payments interest free.


All prices listed on www.customtackle.co.nz are subject to change without notice and by default are for New Zealand customers displayed and billed in New Zealand dollars and are inclusive of GST.

Ownership, Delivery and Delivery Charges

When your order leaves our premises ownership passes to you.

We deliver to New Zealand physical addresses ONLY –  not PO Box numbers.

Our freight suppliers in New Zealand are:

  • For courier parcels – NZ Post overnight  or 2-3 day tracked delivery.
  • For larger/longer items – Toll or Aramex.
    • North Island – please allow 4 working days plus an extra day for rural deliveries.
    • South Island – please allow 5 working days plus an extra day for rural deliveries.

Freight charges are calculated during the checkout process.

By placing your order you are accepting that these companies will be responsible for carrying your goods.

Please note for your protection that a signature is required for all deliveries. The goods become the recipient’s property and responsibility once they have left our premises.

If goods are lost or damaged in transit, please contact NZ Post  within 5 business days with your tracking number. They will cover your loss in the event of non delivery or damage either by reimbursing you or arranging for us to replace the goods.

You will receive an email that confirms that your order has been dispatched.

To ensure successful delivery, please provide a delivery address where someone will be present during business hours to sign for the receipt of your package. You can track your order by entering the tracking number emailed to you in the dispatch email, into the NZ Post web site.

Returns or Refunds

Custom Tackle New Zealand stand behind the products we sell and we have a fair return policy. We want you to feel safe when you buy at Custom Tackle and we want you to feel confident that we will support you should there be any issues.


Freight within New Zealand is determined by on the type, size, and weight of products purchased. Rural delivery incurs an extra freight charge. All goods are sent by courier track and trace. Please note Rural Delivery Contractors will not deliver parcels over 1.5m (Rods!!!) – so you will need to supply an address where Aramex Couriers delivers, or arrange delivery to an Aramex depo for collection. Shipping for international orders is determined by the weight and size and type of products purchased. Over sized, or heavy orders, typically longer than 1.5m or more than 3kg, goods might not be to be shipped internationally. This typically applies to rods! Please contact us before making an international order. Express shipping attracts extra costs.

Faulty goods

Unless stated otherwise, all items carry a 12 month warranty (some products have longer warranties).

Faulty goods can be returned in person to Custom Tackle or send them with a covering letter containing your contact details and any relevant information. Send to:

Please contact us before returning any items. We will assess the received goods and contact you to discuss the options. Normally, as a first step, we will repair or replace the goods. Goods that are deemed faulty and falls within the warranty and cannot be repaired or replaced will be refunded to the purchase price.

All costs associated with the return of goods are the sole responsibility of the consumer.

  • Items purchased through retail stores must be returned to the place of purchase for exchange/refund.
  • Items purchased through 3rd party websites must be returned to the place of purchase for exchange/refund.

Unwanted goods

Unused and still sell-able goods, complete in their original packaging may, be returned to us for a full refund for up to 1 month after purchase, excluding:

  1. Electronics which may only be returned 7 days after purchase, and
  2. Any item that was specially ordered or modified to meet your specifications, e.g. a reel spooled with line of your choice.
  3. Any books, charts, videos, cd’s, cut length of line, rigging, netting etc.

Receipts must be provided.

Any refunds of Unwanted Goods will be made using Gift Cards and will exclude the cost of freight.

The above does NOT alter or reduce your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

Purchases and payments

For purchase of consumables, the client will pay the Owner the agreed price on purchase/completion of goods and services

Costs and expenses

The Client shall pay to the Owner all costs and expenses incurred by the Owner in recovering money or in connection with the exercise or attempted exercise of any of the Owners rights or remedies under this contract, including commissions


All CTNZ products are covered by a 1 year warranty unless otherwise specified. Some products have extended international warranties.

Warranty Repairs

If the product you have purchased has a manufacturing defect or has failed please contact us.

Manufacturing defects do not include normal wear and tear or failure from careless or improper use.

If the returned product is under warranty, the repair and return to you will be at our expense.

If the product is out of warranty, and we are able to have the product repaired, we will offer you this service and advise the cost for your consideration.

Out of Stock items

We work hard to ensure our stock level information is correct and try not accept your order if we know your selected item is not available.  However should we be unable for any reason, be unable to fill your order, you will be notified and your credit card refunded.

CTNZ owns all copyright and other intellectual property in this site. Everything on this site, unless otherwise stated, is copyright.

CTNZ welcomes the use of this site for personal use, non-commercial use, research or study – provided the user acknowledges all copyright and other notices contained in the content.

We advise that you may not copy or display for redistribution to third parties or for commercial purposes, any portion of this site without the express permission of CTNZ.

CTNZ does not accept any liability, direct or indirect, for any loss or damage that may directly or indirectly result from any advice, opinion, information, representation or omission whether negligent or otherwise, contained on this site.
